VNS Health Hiring for Recruitment Associate, Long Island Region at Hicksville, NY  Full Time

Recruits, interviews, and hires quality Home Health Aid candidates. Ensures that all pre/post-employment administrative functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner and in compliance with VNS Health/governmental requirements. Participates in job fairs and other recruitment outreach activities. Works under general supervision.

Compensation:

$25.46 – $31.86 Hourly

• Identifies sources of qualified candidates in a timely and cost-effective manner, aggressively pursues recruiting leads and distributes flyers. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with referral sources.
• Interviews Certified Home Health Aides and candidates for entrance into Home Health Aide Training Program. Administers requisite testing and makes appropriate hiring decisions.
• Conducts monthly Open Houses in outlying regions, interviews and processes Home Health Aide candidates.
• Identifies, coordinates and represents Partners in Care/VNS Health at appropriate recruitment venues (e.g., career fairs, college/high school career days, open houses, etc.) to maximize visibility, enhance image of VNS Health and increase applicant pools.
• Ensures each new hire has required documentation (e.g., I-9 information, letters of reference) and is hired in accordance with all relevant federal, state and city laws and regulations. Coordinates with Employee Health Services to arrange medical exams and verify references.
• Ensures employment advertisements, employee bulletins and other materials accurately summarize position duties and qualifications. Makes recommendations for updates, as appropriate.
• Identifies and analyzes unique staffing patterns and trends and advises Recruitment Manager and line management, as needed. Collaborates on the development of plans to address recruitment/retention issues, as required.
• Keeps informed of latest issues and trends in recruitment and health care.
• Acts as the primary liaison between VNS Health and candidates prior to the acceptance of offer.
• Compiles and maintains weekly and monthly recruitment statistics and monitors performance against recruitment goals. Prepares reports as requested and participate in special projects as assigned.
• Plans, organizes, and facilitates New Employee Orientation for Home Health Aides.
• Makes recommendations to continually improve the orientation process to ensure effectiveness.
• Assists with verifying exclusion status for new HHAs in compliance with VNS Health policy and procedures; notifies leadership when any matches occur.
• Assist in the development of training and orientation evaluation process. Conducts training needs assessments.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field or equivalent work experience required

Work Experience:

• Minimum of three years general Human Resources experience, including a minimum of one year in recruitment required
• General knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local employment laws, regulations, rules and practices required
• Effective verbal, written and presentation skills required
• Personal computer skills required
