The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. This position will be in support of Translational Immunology Laboratory at the Agile Vaccines and Therapeutics (AVAT) Department/Directorate for DoD Infectious Diseases (DDID) Research/Naval Medical Research Center, Silver Spring, MD. The primary objective of the Translational Immunology Laboratory is to support research conducted at AVAT to develop agile and innovative countermeasures to current and future infectious disease threats of military concern. The laboratory currently works on multiple areas of infectious diseases including wound infections (S. aureus), SARS-CoV-2, Influenza, and malaria. The laboratory has access to a state-of the-art immunology core facility containing multi-color flow-cytometers, cell sorters and mesoscale instruments.
HJF is seeking a Research Associate III to perform research and/or development in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff. Exercise technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies. Provide training and guidance for lower level Research Associates and laboratory staff.
