1 – First Shift
Are you the type of person that can lead a team to consistently meet deadlines and enforce company policies? In this role you will manage the payroll team and oversee the processing of company credit cards and expense reports, while collaborating with subsidiaries to achieve consistency and/or centralization across entities. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in multi-state and global payroll processing and tax reporting.
What You’ll Do
1. Manage bi-weekly calculation and disbursement of multi-state and Canadian payrolls, including garnishments, benefits and taxes for approximately 3,500 employees consistent with US Federal, State, Wage Hour and Canadian tax laws. Process special one-off payments, adjustments, benefits, and/or tax forms for executive staff, expatriates, shareholders and board members.
2. Lead the implementation of payroll systems, conversions or upgrades. Write and maintain payroll reports within the system. Manage relationships and integrations with third party vendors.
3. Manage the retro and timekeeping process in the HRIS system; communicate actively with operations, human resources and finance to review cross-functional impacts and reconcile data sharing.
4. Perform periodic, quarter-end, and year-end reconciliations, audits and special reporting for auditors and the tax department.
5. Lead payroll-related special projects working cross-functionally with other groups within the organization.
6. Maintain knowledge of “best-in-class” payroll technology, resources, and technical knowledge regarding payroll workflow and data management. Drive standardization and efficiency through processes.
What We’re Looking For
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business or related field with a minimum of seven years of payroll processing experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
– Experience with HRIS/payroll systems; Workday preferred.
– CPP designation preferred.
– Advanced knowledge of US and Canadian employment-related systems, laws and regulations.
Travel
– Occasional travel is expected of this position.
Work Location
HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
