DESKTOP TECHNICIAN

Van Cleef Engineering Associates (VCEA) is a mid-size consulting civil engineering firm with offices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The firm provides land development and municipal engineering services, including structural, transportation, geotechnical, surveying and construction inspection. Our Mercer County office is currently seeking resumes from qualified candidates with tremendous growth potential for an IT DesktopTechnician position.

We currently have an open position for an IT Desktop Technician based out of our Hamilton, NJ office, but other office locations potentially available.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

• Two (2) years’ experience in the industry, preferably with a professional services firm
• Travel between our offices in PA and NJ required;
• Performs general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots, installations, and repairs computer systems and peripheral equipment ;
• Must have experience with all different makes/models of laptops and desktops;
• Ability to setup and migrate Users to new laptops and desktops;
• Proficient with Windows 7, 8 and 10 operating systems on a network and Microsoft Office Suite;
• CAD training and knowledge of CAD software a plus;
• Basic understanding of network infrastructure and wiring;
• Understanding of basic networking and Active Directory domain structure;
• Solid decision making, prioritization, and multi-tasking abilities;
• Team player with the ability to work independently;
• Escalates problems and issues to a higher level of support. This includes service that exceeds response time, repair time, lack of parts, or any other issue that could impact end user’s satisfaction;
• Interacts with customers as directed, responding to routine technical questions or requests for information;
• Valid Driver License required;
• High School Diploma/ Equivalency required;
• Must be dependable, neat and organized.

Physical Requirements — the person in this position must be able to:

• Frequently talk, hear and see;
• Frequently use hands to handle objects, tools or controls;
• Regularly stand, walk,reach with hands and/or arms, and sit – all for long periods;
• Ability to stand upright to repair equipment for possible long periods of time;
• Ability to crawl on the floor to get behind and/or under office furniture and/or equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
• Frequently be able to read computer terminal screens and use keyboards;
• Work on ladders.
