In addition, maintains a data-base of faculty hiring; schedules, coordinates, manages, and maintains appropriate documentation for College activities associated with faculty searches, appointment, annual evaluation, promotion and tenure, pre-tenure review, post-tenure review, and dismissal; analyzes and handles correspondences, or other materials/inquiries received by the Dean’s office, including the development of draft responses on the Dean’s behalf as appropriate; organizes, prepares, and ensures the quality and timeliness of all routine correspondence, travel, outreach/development, and administrative activities of the Dean; and provides support for accreditation.
Responsibilities

Oversees and monitors administrative and clerical duties of the Dean; Looks ahead to ensure the Dean stays on top of all hiring, reports, and projects of the COE; Manages access to the Dean’s calendar, ensuring that time time is used efficiently and effectively. Maintains a data-base of faculty hiring; Schedules, coordinates, manages, and maintains appropriate documentation for College activities associated with faculty searches, appointment, annual evaluation, promotion and tenure, pre-tenure review, post-tenure review, and dismissal.
Analyzes and handles correspondences, or other materials/inquiries received by the Dean’s office, including the development of draft responses on the Dean’s behalf as appropriate; Organizes, prepares, and ensures the quality and timeliness of all routine correspondence, travel, outreach/development, and administrative activities of the Dean.

Serves as Building Manager to ensure the functionality, appearance, and safety of all Education facilities; Collaborates with others across campus who work with the COE Dean.
Participates in the planning and implementation of College events; (which sometimes occur in the evenings or weekends).
Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates office staff who work directly under this position; Works with all COE staff to provide professional development on College policies and procedures to ensure alignment with University guidelines.

Handles confidential and sensitive matters related to employees and/or students. Provides support for accreditation. Handles other duties as assigned associated with the strategic operation and development of the College.

High school diploma or equivalent; five years progressive experience as an administrative professional required; In addition, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to: Efficiently manage (plan, research, implement, monitor, and complete) complex projects involving multiple entities and multiple individuals; Work in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic environment; Display a customer-service approach to the work; Maintain professionalism in dress, demeanor, speech, and dispositions, even in stressful situations; Communicate effectively in oral and written formats and adapt the style of communication to different audiences, including writing on behalf of the Dean; Maintain a high level of organizational skill with ability to prioritize, delegate, redirect, and adapt as needed; Assume leadership of deans’ office activities as appropriate; Maintain the utmost confidentiality and privacy of information; Work independently; Create new ways of conducting business that improve processes and functioning of the Dean’s office.
