Our Client is seeking a Tier 2 Security Analyst to support our City of Irvine client in Irvine, CA. The contract is a comprehensive IT infrastructure initiative which aims to significantly improve the manner in which the Client’s IT systems are operated, supported, and controlled. The Tier 2 Security Analyst position is concerned with the Security Services Requirements section of this contract, providing support services associated with (but not limited to) Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), incident response, Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), anti-virus and malware management, and firewall monitoring.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications
or MS in Cybersecurity or related technical field, 0+ years relevant industry experience.
Desired Qualifications
or MS in Cybersecurity or related technical field, 2+ years relevant industry experience.
GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) or similar
GOAL OF TEAM: Create and Support a Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC) for the City of Irvine. Work will include policy/procedure development, and day-to-day SOC functions – Monitor, Alert, Respond, and Report.
Team structure: team will be 3 analysts (2 tier 2 and 1 tier 3) and 1 cyber architect (the tier one team that handles initial alerts are in TN).
Current Situation: This is a brand new piece of work and the SOC is being built out. The T2 analyst will get to work alongside the architect and T3 analyst and the government client to choose tools and build out the SOC from scratch. The goal is to have the SOC up and functional January 2023. The Tools have not been chosen so a well rounded experience of various SEIM tools is a plus! This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in understanding the architecture and “behind the wall” functioning of a SOC. They will get to see a SOC get built and turning the lights on for day 1! This is a very unique opportunity especially for someone that is newer in their SOC career
