Educational and Experience Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, marketing, higher education, or related field. Two years experience in higher education, career services, employer engagement, experiential learning coordination, or a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:
Performs moderately complex managerial work managing employer engagement for the Career Success Center and manages the daily operations, coordinating and centralizing experiential learning data collection for the entire university.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinates with the Director of Career Success Center and the leadership team to strategically transform career services and the employer relations ecosystem within and outside of the university. Strategically grows the number of relationships with local, regional, and national employers and organizations. Leverages data to increase partnerships across various industries, from startups to Fortune 100 companies, resulting in opportunities for students from all majors and colleges. Supports the Director in developing strategic partnerships and initiatives with key offices, such as the Alumni Association, University Advancement, Athletics, and staff and faculty engaging with external partners. Manages all incoming communications from employers or from campus partners related to employer partnerships seeking to recruit students and alumni from the university. Conducts site visits to include local, regional, and national employers to maintain relations as well as further expand experiential learning opportunities, promoting out-of-the-classroom experience and learning activity related to students’ academic studies and career direction. Participates in area business, not-for-profit associations, and chamber of commerce activities with emphasis on relation development. Oversees the maintenance of accurate records of student information pertaining to experiential learning activities of Sam Houston Statue University (SHSU) students. Develops and maintains current written guidelines detailing procedures for submitting and collecting experiential learning information, employer/company details, student information, and distributing collected data to campus partners. Collaborates with other departments/student services to effectively market experiential learning through outreach programming. Promotes the accessibility of experiential learning postings as well as experiential learning job-search strategies. Conducts outreach to current/prospective students and family members to promote benefits of experiential learning. Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Marketing, Communications, and Events to coordinate promotional materials, i.e., news releases directed to college administrators, faculty liaisons, student organizations, and targeted student populations. Directs special efforts to promote full use of career and employment services by students. Collaborates with the Career Center to coordinate career events to include activities such as career/internship fairs, on-campus interviews, tabling events, networking events, and other career related events to promote experiential learning opportunities. Manages and supervises Employer Engagement staff. Provides leadership, guidance, goals and oversight to the team to support the Career Center in employer engagement and maintenance of experiential learning activities. Provides input into program administration and ongoing employer relations. Participates in staff activities and meetings, an annual performance evaluation, and professional development activities including involvement in state, regional, and national associations. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
