Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Who is an ideal candidate for this position? The ideal candidate for this position can work well independently and contribute to the larger vision of the department and division. You have an eye for details and can see how the small details contribute to the overall big picture. You can be assertive, build partnerships in the FSU community, and take the initiative when appropriate. Good communication skills are a must and previous academic advising experience is helpful
What is a typical day in this position? The daily routine of this position can vary. Some days may be filled with students meetings, while others may include attending meetings, completing projects, organizing events, or answering the phone. But along with the variety of duties comes the reward of supporting students, leading a team, and positively impacting student retention and graduation efforts.
What can I expect in the first 60-90 days? The first month will involve learning the position by attending applicable training, shadowing academic advisors and leadership members, and establishing rapport with campus partners. There is on the job training and guidance provided by the Assistant Director. You will start meeting with students and plan for upcoming department and University events.

Anticipated Salary Range
Starting salary is $44,184.
