JOB OBJECTIVE: Provide tools and development material to launch and drive adoption of sales in the clinical market. Develop and coordinate activities with key business owners and overlay teams to support our global branches and customer needs. On a limited basis, generate data to drive clinical initiatives and contribute to product development activities by gathering voice of customer to improve the product workflow while growing Promega’s clinical diagnostic business.
CORE DUTIES:
Product Development:
1. Proactively analyze and interpret customer and market information to identify product strategies and technology opportunities that can be implemented within the business. Remain current on in-depth market knowledge leading to data-based decision making. Provide these insights to the clinical director to aid in the strategic direction.
2. Work in collaboration with the business unit, global sales, and overlay teams to develop and communicate clear and concise strategic plans and business cases to key stakeholders to support new product development.
3. Serve as a customer liaison on a cross-functional new product realization (NPR) team.
4. Coordinate with Segment SBUs to develop new product market assessments.
5. Lead and review product requirements, voice of customer, and go to market strategies with NPR team.
6. Network with customers to understand technical needs, trends, and future products. Builds long-term relationships with customers, stakeholders, and/or key opinion leaders.
Clinical Product Development Activities:
7. In close collaboration with the global and branch marketing teams, plan and execute pre- and post-launch activities. Collaborate with marketing team on developing promotional materials, including sales aids and training materials, web pages, digital platforms, etc. Collaborate with medical affairs, and field support scientists to ensure scientific validity of the contents of promotional materials.
8. Develop and manage global support collateral and strategies for clinical workflows (e.g., new product trainings, FAQs, and product technical resources as well as working with the CDx global commercialization marketing manager to understand and assist with the needs of sales and other internal partner’s needs), ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained. Conduct internal sales trainings as needed.
9. Provide support and coordination for Promega driven clinical collaborations and research trials. Apply deep understanding of clinical portfolio and clinical research trial design to act as a technical resource to drive execution of collaborations in coordination with strategic research collaborations manager, medical affairs, and R&D.
10. Identify new technology and trends in the clinical market and present to internal teams to work with across functional team and take a lead in projects to drive commercialization and revenue recognition.
11. Develop business justification and market analysis pertaining to clinical opportunities.
12. Drive and manage the clinical assay development services internally with support from R&D, SPM and sales team. Help write and manage SOPs, MTAs etc.
13. Provide input for the development of tactical plans for marketing strategies with the commercialization and/or product manager. Where appropriate, develop technical or marketing collateral in support of products.
14. Contribute to direction and execution of trade shows, symposia, and other customer-focused events.
15. Generate commercially valuable laboratory data to support proof of concept or to meet business objectives. Prepare and present data generated internally and from clinical trials at international meetings or publications.
16. Attend conferences and tradeshows to network, present posters, or give presentations.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. BS/BA in life sciences, oncology or human genetics field or equivalent education or work experience.
2. Minimum of 5-7 years clinical application or clinical sales support.
3. Proven ability to analyze issues, think strategically and creatively and execute innovative ideas in the target market segment.
4. Imaginative, inclusive team player that inspires and challenges teams to exceed performance goals.
5. Communicate and negotiate effectively with several layers of co-workers and external contacts both in writing and verbally. Adapt style and approach to suit different audiences. Build rapport and gain support/commitment.
6. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, project management and decision-making skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Advanced degree in life sciences (Masters or PhD), oncology or human genetics focus highly preferred. Strong laboratory skills and publication record.
2. Demonstrated familiarity with Promega products for the clinical workflow.
3. Advanced in-depth knowledge of clinical trials, clinical laboratories, pharma, and clinical research organizations.
4. International experience, especially working with overseas with sales teams.
5. Experience in bringing a product(s) through either pre-market notification (510K) or pre-market approval (PMA) with FDA.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Ability to use computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite), office tools, equipment.
2. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
