The Compensation Specialist is responsible for the implementation, execution and administration of Ace’s compensation philosophy, practices and programs for a diverse employee population that includes distribution centers, corporate office staff and field-based employees. This position will provide analytical and other professional level compensation support as it relates to the annual merit process, incentive programs, job documentation, job evaluation, salary administration, salary survey data collection, legal compliance research and special studies.
What you’ll do
Assist with interpretation and administration of the company’s compensation programs, practices and procedures including annual merit review process and incentive plans
Implement “best practices” to improve processes and the overall effectiveness of policies and programs and partner with HR, Finance, Payroll and HRIS as it relates to implementing and administering pay programs, policies, and systems
Create, maintain, and distribute compensation pay plans to all locations. This includes updates to national and local exempt and non-exempt salary range structures, Warehouse Specialist step plan structures and Driver pay components and plans
Conduct and participate in annual salary surveys at all levels & for all disciplines. Analyze and evaluate data in order to determine pay grade assignments
Conduct salary and labor market research to define benchmarks and ensure plans are cost effective and competitive
Ensure job descriptions are in correct format and partner with HR Business Partner to ensure job descriptions are accurate and up to date
Assist with job evaluations. Partner with HR Business Partners and the Manager to review and evaluate new and updated jobs utilizing the Hay Point Factor tool ensuring jobs are consistently and accurately documented
Monitor Compensation mailbox and respond to inquiries related to pay plans, offer assistance, promotion guidelines, step structures, merit, and incentives
Perform various compensation related audits. Process compensation changes and corrections
Advise HR Business Partners and Managers on complex and sensitive compensation issues
Research and evaluate new or changing compensation practices and policies. Monitor compliance and changes in applicable laws and regulations
What you need to succeed
Minimum 1-3 years’ experience with broad based compensation programs and incentive pay practices
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance or related field, CCP preferred
Previous experience with HRIS systems and reporting, preferably Workday and Success Factors
Knowledge of human resources operations and compensation theory and practice required
Strong analytical abilities including high aptitude for Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong consultative skills and the ability to build solid relationships with HR team and stakeholders across the business
Compensation Details:
$74000 – $78000 per year
