General Description:
The Director of Alumni Affairs and Annual Giving will design and lead a comprehensive engagement strategy for OCCC alumni, current faculty and staff as well as engage with community members across the state and US. The Director will be responsible for developing a culture of philanthropy with OCCC students and alumni, and for building a sense of engagement and community among its graduates. The position will be responsible for local and regional alumni relations programs working with the Foundation and the OCCC Alumni Association. The Director will strategically advance alumni programs with the goals of increasing alumni engagement, providing tangible benefits to alumni, and building a pipeline of current OCCC students to become engaged alumni. The Director will advance the Foundation for OCCC’s goals by developing and executing a core alumni relations portfolio, including outreach and stewardship of all alumni, donors, parents and friends; and overseeing the execution of alumni special events and the development of a philanthropic culture.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required.
An additional three (3) years minimum of alumni relations/event management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge about trends in higher education, annual giving, philanthropy, and alumni engagement.
Knowledge of fundraising and alumni engagement best practices.
Knowledge of social media platforms.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to professionally interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty and alumni.
Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations.
Ability to work with highly confidential information.
Ability and willingness to work some weekends and evenings required.
Understanding of database management, gift processing and donor relations.
Must have the ability to gain a thorough knowledge of College Advancement.
Expertise/proficiency in all areas listed in the Essential Functions of the position description.
Strong experience with alumni relations, events planning, logistics, and management with proven record in managing alumni relation processes, events and programs.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized and creative.

Comfortable working with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Willingness to ask for financial contributions or sponsorships.
Willingness to cold-call prospective donors.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the person to frequently move about the OCCC campus and off-site outreach locations.

This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
This position requires the person to perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor office setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Degree.
Experience working in higher education and specifically Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.
Experience in an academic, non-profit and/or development environment.
Fundraising experience.
Exposure to fundraising software.
Ability to provide direction and motivation to others through communication, modeling appropriate behavior, optimism, and high achievement.
Demonstrated organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to work with and motivate other development professionals and volunteers.
Professional fundraising certification such as CFRE.
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00 p.m. Some evening and weekend hours as needed.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):
Develop and implement strategic alumni outreach plan and activities by executing an active program of cultivation and special events.
Develop and maintain systems to track participation in these programs and their impact on The Foundation and OCCC’s philanthropic efforts.
Manage the core alumni relations portfolio of OCCC alumni. Implement alumni programs, conduct alumni award nominations and selections and outreach to alumni, and students.
Coordinate with the lead philanthropic officer on cultivation and strategies for alumni, parent, and friend support.
Track and record relationships with alumni, parents, and friends in central database
Identify opportunities for OCCC and campus leadership to meet with groups of alumni or individual alumni or parent supporters.
Generate new ideas and manage related tasks to strengthen engagement with alumni, parents, students, and friends.
Create an alumni-in-training program for OCCC students and develop an alumni orientation program for graduating students.
Conduct alumni events for OCCC students to cultivate a lifelong relationship withPromote an active calendar of student/alumni activities.
Partner on visits, meetings, regional strategy, prepare related briefings, implement follow-up activities (thank you letters, debriefings, etc.).
Identify and respond to needs of priority alumni, prospects and VIP visitors as needed.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
