SUMMARY
The Simulation Operations Specialist is responsible for the implementation and delivery of simulation-based education (SBE) activities which occur across a variety of healthcare disciplines at the MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP). Primary responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of the simulation spaces serving various departments within the IHP’s School of Nursing, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and School of Healthcare Leadership. This individual will be responsible for all administrative, technology operations, repairs, and maintenance supporting SBE activities at the Institute. Duties will be performed throughout the various simulation spaces across campus using in-person, hybrid, and/or virtual modalities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative (30%):
Technology operations, repairs, maintenance (70%):
a. Assist faculty with setting up live AV viewing of simulations using SimulationIQ software.
b. Troubleshoot technological issues with simulation-equipment, manikins, and accompanying computers/tablets.
c. Coordinate with IHP Information Technology to manage technology issues related to simulation-based equipment.
i. Maintain technology issues log.
ii. Update IHP faculty and staff on the status of open Help Desk tickets.
iii. Work to close tickets by maintaining communication with IT about unresolved issues.
