The University of Virginia’s Facilities Management (FM), McCormick Zone has an exciting opportunity for an HVAC Mechanic. Our team of resourceful professionals focus on drive and innovation across various trades, and we are excited to invite you to join our team! FM’s McCormick Zone is located near Scott Stadium and has convenient parking for employees. The HVAC Mechanic performs skilled journeyman-level work to maintain, troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC chilled or hot water systems, air-handling equipment, and other related heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment. All employees are provided with full work outfit and cell phones.
Facilities Management (FM) organization supports the University of Virginia’s wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair, and maintenance of UVA’s buildings, infrastructure as well as other University-owned and leased properties.

For this position, the selected candidate will need to complete the following background checks: criminal, sexual offender and DMV.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $22.50 – $28.00 per hour (46,800.00 – $58,240.00 per year). Employees at this level, new to the University, are eligible for a $2,500.00 sign on bonus.

Physical Demands: Employee will be required to crawl, kneel, squat, bend and twist in order to perform their work. Employee will work with materials of different weights and perform repetitive motions.
