The Executive Technology team provides innovative and strategic technology service, technical support, and solutions for the Office of the President and approximately 42 other executive units at UVA. In delivering high-level technical support, the Senior Information Technology Specialist will be expected to bring best-in-class customer service to every user we support. The incumbent will proactively engage and promptly respond to requests for assistance with computing hardware, software, and network interfaces. Similarly, the Senior Information Technology Specialist will provide training and resources for clients based on articulated or anticipated computing needs to ensure their office technologies run as seamlessly as possible. Another valuable expectation of this position is having an extensive knowledge of the Information Technology field and tools to manage the supervision of endpoint management process.
The Senior IT Specialist will primarily be utilizing Windows Server, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Deployment Tool, and other Microsoft products while also employing and configuring JAMF a Macintosh technology.
Responsibilities:
Qualified candidates must have a High School degree or equivalent with at least five years of experience providing technical support, to include experience supporting macOS and Windows OS. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or a related field is preferred. The successful candidate will have expert knowledge in computing technologies and a broad range of multi-user computer system abilities including applications, system analysis methodology, computer security procedures, installation of client computing platforms, and be prepared to provide user training to improve computer literacy and proficiency. The ideal candidate will have experienced skills in Windows, have some knowledge of Macintosh computers, have a passion for customer service, have significant experience delivering computing solutions to high-level users, as well as having prior experience supporting staff in a fast-paced leadership environment and a high degree of confidentiality.
This position supports various customer locations within the Charlottesville area. It does require that the incumbent has reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a positive point balance is required,
Anticipated Hiring Range: $75,000 – $85,000 depending on education and/or experience.
This position has core hours of Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm EST. Additionally, it does require the ability to share emergency on-call duties with the other Executive Technology staff on a rotating monthly basis.
The anticipated start date is January 2024 – February 2024. This position will remain open until it is filled. Review of Applicants will begin January 8, 2024.
