Job Description Summary
The Department of Neurology is seeking a Grant Manager A to oversee all Pre-Award activity and associated tasks. Under limited supervision, responsible for the overall management of all departmental pre-award activity. This position will primarily handle pre-award activity but is expected to be knowledgeable about post-award and assist as needed. Manage pre award activities including budget development, creation of grant deliverables and timelines for faculty, manage JIT, maintain Other Support, creation of sub-account worksheets, budgeting of new accounts, and other tasks as assigned. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and meet with principal investigators to discuss and advise on any proposals. Collaborate with all members of team including colleagues in ORSS, ORS and PSOM finance, as well as internal department colleagues. Contribute to policy and SOP creation.
Job Description
The Grants Manager A will report to the Associate Director of Research Operations with dotted line reporting to the Office of Research Support Services. Under limited supervision, This position will primarily handle pre-award activity but is expected to be knowledgeable about post-award and assist as needed. Responsibilities are detailed below:
.-Manage pre award activities including budget development, creation of grant deliverables and timelines for faculty, and enter into PennERA for routing. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and meet with principal investigators to discuss and advise on any proposals
– Serve as point of contact for all Subaward institutions through pre-award process
– Manage JIT process, providing guidance to faculty and trainees throughout inlcuding maintaining Other Support
– Review award documents for accuracy and follow up with ORS to make sure accounts are created, review AIS for consistency with NOA
– Creation of sub-account worksheets
– Assist with RIS entry, as needed
– Budgeting of new accounts, as needed
– Supervise coordinator assigned to help with pre-award
– Creation of SOP’s
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Grants Manager A: Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
