There will be opportunities for collaboration on research projects with glaucoma specialists and biostatisticians, as well as experience with grant and manuscript writing. Job Responsibilities

The Clinical Research Coordinator will have a variety of responsibilities and opportunities including:

• Lead patient-facing and organizational aspects of the study, serving as primary point of contact for previously enrolled subjects and any new subjects.
• Re-contact selected patients and families with genetic variants of interest for onsite glaucoma screenings, including arranging transportation, scheduling with glaucoma specialists, and assisting with screenings.
• During enrollment and/or screenings, evaluate subjects for exclusion/inclusion criteria, conduct patient interviews, obtain patient consent, collect blood samples for DNA analyses, and enter information into a de-identified research database.
• Submit documents to regulatory authorities (e.g. IRB, FDA, etc.) and/or review/monitoring boards (ie, DSMB, independent safety officer).
• Ensure that all research is conducted safely and according to protocol. Includes maintenance of study source documents and essential regulatory documents; reporting of adverse events; understanding of good clinical practice (GCP); and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and sponsor policies.
• Work with Database manager to organize, collect, and retrieve phenotypic information from the POAAGG database and medical charts as required.
• Collaborate with Program Coordinator and other team members to organize community outreach events offering free glaucoma screenings, conduct messaging campaigns to reach at-risks patients, and assist with other outreach efforts.
• Work closely with biostatisticians, Scheie Image Reading Center, glaucoma specialists, and the wet lab members of the center to conduct clinical and translational research studies on glaucoma.
• The CRC will have opportunities to contribute to manuscripts and grants and to receive authorship.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Prior experience working in clinical research is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills; be highly organized; and possess strong ambition, interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask
