Duties and Responsibilities :
• Manages office-related projects with specific focus on faculty and student-related STEM initiatives (Cyberwarriors, SURI, REU and McNair programs).
• Collects and enters information needed for database and tracking system on program activities. Compiles statistics, presents these in table or chart format, and prepares reports for program evaluation, compliance, and survey participation purposes.
• Converts rough copy and drafts to final version quality reports, presentations, and documents. Includes incorporating edits from multiple reviewers, adding graphics and effects to presentations, and applying campus style guidelines.
• Develops, implements, and maintains paper and electronic filing systems, which meet department needs and satisfy requirements for retention and information security. Enters, updates, and retrieves information as needed. Creates reports as needed.
• Receives, screens, and responds to inquiries on the phone or in writing. Provides general information about the program such as admission requirements, basic academic policies, and general program content.
• Ensures that all required forms and documentation are complete. Compiles, updates, and maintains all records related to assigned administrative processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based
upon departmental needs.
Education:
A High School diploma or GED required.
Experience:
A minimum of one to three years’ administrative experience. Experience in a college/university setting helpful.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
General knowledge of and skills in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effective both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets and presentation programs, internet and calendaring software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
