Position Summary:
We are a fast-paced cancer immunology lab in need of reliable experienced lab manager. The main purpose of this position is to oversee mouse colony maintenance and to manage laboratory purchasing, stocks and supplies. Individual will be responsible for the management of genetically modified mouse colonies, including genotyping, as well as assisting in some animal procedures. Additionally, this position will require purchasing reagents and equipment, and implementing and maintaining cataloging system for laboratory stocks of antibodies, plasmids, cell lines and other relevant materials. Occasional assistance in experiments using established protocols and procedures; recording results of experiments; assisting in implementing new procedures and protocols to support experiments.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential. Familiarity with Word and Excel is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
Previous experience with small animal surgery and working with primary cells, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry is preferred. Preference will be given to those with at least 2 years of postgraduate laboratory or technician experience.
