Position Description
The Department
of Art & Art History at The University of Mississippi invites applications for an Instructor & Ceramics Technician beginning August 18,
2022. This full-time position requires an MFA in Studio Art with an emphasis in Ceramics or terminal degree in a related field at the time
of appointment. Ideal candidates will possess a strong commitment and ability to teach ceramics classes offered within our BA and BFA in
Studio Art program. Candidates can expect to work teach at least one class per semester with additional courses being programmed based on
demand. Responsibilities for this position include teaching; overseeing daily operations of the ceramics facility, including routine
maintenance, repair, and replacement of all equipment; scheduling and supervising regular cleaning of the ceramics studio to ensure that the
studio is functioning properly and is a safe and accessible environment for students, staff, and faculty; training students on safety and
maintenance of equipment; and additional related duties as required. The Department of Art & Art History offers a BA and BFA in Studio Art,
BA in Art History and MFA in Studio Art.
