Job Summary
The Manager, Revenue Cycle, coordinates and monitors staffing levels, personnel issues, quality, and productivity as it relates to managing accounts receivable, collections and all facets of operations of a newly centralized unit that support dental clinics, with 120,000 patients annually. The incumbent ensures that all clinics meet or exceed assigned target, goals and objectives, such as: annual performance goals in cash collections, days in account receivable, aging, WIP (work in progress) reductions and bad debt. It is critical that the Manager, Revenue Cycle, earns and maintains a climate of confidence in the billing process and results with providers and UCSF SoD leadership.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% – 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
The UCSF School of Dentistry is a global leader in dental education and public health, clinical practice and scientific discovery. As a leading institution of oral and craniofacial health, our educational programs have grown to include, in addition to our DDS, an array of MS and PhD, post-graduate and residency programs. Our students and faculty handle over 120,000 patient visits a year in our comprehensive Dental Center. The School is also one of the top oral and craniofacial research enterprises in the world, ranked the top dental school in the country in research funding from the National Institutes of Health for 25 years and home to several leading translational research programs.
The centralized Dental Center Patient Billing Unit is responsible for the accounts receivable management function for the School’s Dental Center from four different clinical departments (Orofacial Sciences, Oral and Maxillofacial Sciences, Predoctoral Clinics and Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences). The primary activity is the billing and collection of the professional fees by the clinics.
