Position Description:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Graduate and Postdoctoral Success (GPS) Director of Mentoring Initiatives, the Mentoring Initiatives Officer will assist in the implementation and delivery of activities, programming, and policies that promote graduate student success through improved mentoring experiences. The Mentoring Initiatives Officer will assist with the development and assessment of scholarly mentoring curricula and programs, using best practice methodology and design, to enhance institutional effectiveness. The Mentoring Initiatives Officer will support the Director in engaging with faculty and professional staff in approximately 100+ departments to develop robust faculty mentorship structures and facilitate culture change.
Major duties include assisting the Director in the creation, modification, and delivery of existing curriculum materials and other resources related to faculty and postdoc mentoring of graduate students; coordinating logistics for the delivery of training workshops for faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars; developing promotional materials and other communications regarding mentoring programs, and administering and collecting data from surveys that evaluate the effectiveness of mentoring initiative efforts.
Special Instructions:
The budgeted hiring salary/target range for this position is the posted minimum to $5,500 monthly, with salary placement based on skills, knowledge, and experience.
