Position Description:
The Education/Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the UCLA Labor Center’s Nonviolence Education Project and workplace education programs. With a primary focus on engaging students, teachers, school administrators, community groups, unions, and other stakeholders, the Education/Outreach Coordinator is responsible for leading efforts of disseminating the nonviolence curriculum to California public schools, community colleges and more. With an initial focus on the Los Angeles area, the project aims to have statewide impact. Experience with students as an educator/instructor, also with partnerships and outreach to expand the reach of educational program; collaborate with stakeholders to advocate for nonviolence education and foster partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other entities. Other instructional efforts include designing curriculum lessons/materials, facilitating workshops and presentations, and conducting outreach to high schools, community colleges, and universities across California. The Education/Outreach Coordinator collaborates closely with the UCLA Labor Center team, project manager, and consultant-instructors to assess educational needs, develop strategic plans, and represent the organization in local, state, and national forums. With a strong commitment to social justice and equity, the Education/Outreach Coordinator embodies the values of nonviolence, empathy, and community engagement in all aspects of their work.
