The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) Human Resources office is seeking a full-time Human Resources Associate. The UTK Human Resources Office provides services to more than 5,000 regular faculty and staff, as well as temporary and student employees. Duties & Responsibilities:
· Serve as primary contact for Family Medical Leave (FML) and Paid Parental Leave (PPL). Process FML/PPL requests and maintain associated files. Consult with staff members on eligibility and policies.
· Support the Classification and Compensation Team by:
o Processing position transactions in IRIS (UT’s HRIS) by reviewing and completing workflow, entering data accurately, maintaining data integrity, and resolving issues;
o Prepping classification/compensation packets for review, and saving final records to official file;
o Tracking and logging classification and compensation requests and data; and
o Conducting classification/compensation related research.
· Identify areas of improvement for assigned tasks and develop processes to improve functions.
· Maintain shared email inboxes and serve as primary contact for phone calls.
· Create and maintain spreadsheets and logs.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
· High School diploma and two years of office or administrative experience to include entering and tracking data, explaining policies and procedures, and providing excellent customer service.
· Experience maintaining complex spreadsheets and files.
While not required, we have some preferences for additional education and experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
· Experience working with FML and associated regulations.
· Experience in a human resource setting.
· Experience with entering data into a HRIS system.
· Experience working in higher education.
