The Office of First-Year Experience at Texas A&M University-San Antonio is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track, 4/4 load, nine-month contract, dual credit lecturer position starting Fall 2023. The successful candidate will teach dual credit First-Year Seminar (FYS) courses (UNIV 1301) and perform university-related service. The candidates must have a graduate degree in higher education, psychology, counseling, or related fields, and have at least 2 years of relevant experience working at an institution of higher education. Quality performance will be expected in teaching. Preference will be given to applicants who have dual-credit university teaching experience. The position requires on-site face-to-face availability for teaching classes during the day.
Responsibilities:
Teach 12 credit hours of dual credit FYS courses per semester,
Participate in institutional services and professional development,
Produce developmentally appropriate FYS curriculum for dual credit students,
Exhibit a collaborative style that facilitates cooperation and teamwork,
Collaborate with the Department of University Access, and
Teach on-site, at the high school campus, when requested.
Required Education and Experience:
Graduate degree in higher education, psychology, counseling, or related fields.
At least two (2) years of relevant experience in a higher education setting.
Minimum of one-year dual credit teaching experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Doctoral Degree (EdD or PhD) in higher education, psychology, counseling, or related fields.
College/University teaching experience.
At least two years of relevant experience in a higher education setting.
Experience with Learning Management Systems (Blackboard) and ePortfolios.
Effective communication skills.
Experience in culturally diverse settings.
This is a full-time position with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance evaluation. The position is fully funded by the university and comes with a full benefits package as an employee of Texas A&M University-San Antonio.

E-scripts and E-recommendations will be considered IF emailed directly to the Executive Director of First-Year Experience. If transcripts are from an international institution, the prospective applicant is responsible for transcripts being translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
