Reporting to the Vice President of Equity & Compliance, the Clery Compliance Specialist is responsible for review of Clery crimes and the data collection to ensure compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, as amended by the Campus SaVE Act and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (the Clery Act), Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), and the Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA).The Clery Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in the university’s compliance with the Clery Act by reviewing receords from the Liberty University Police Department (LUPD) and the University’s records management system (i.e. Beacon, Maxient) to ensure proper categorization of campus crime statistics. The Clery Compliance Specialist will play a role in the preparation, publication, and distribution of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree. Three years of experience working in procedural or management analysis or two years in supporting Clery role. Must be able to become CJIS Certified within the first 90 days to ensure access to applicable systems for this role.
Preferred Qualifications: A graduate degree in Law, Business, Communications, Criminal Justice, or Emergency Management or related field. Previous experience complying with the requirements of the Clery Act. Advanced Clery Act training, and familiarization with Title
IX and VAWA. Three or more years of work experience with an institution of Higher Education. Background in law enforcement or related field is beneficial due to the nature of the position.
