The Assistant Director of Academic and Student Services provides holistic support and guidance to students in program navigation, course selection, retention, graduation, career exploration, academic support, and other related student success activities. The Assistant Director of Academic and Student Services is responsible for academic advising, registration for non-matriculated students, meeting online and in-person with prospective students, including those interested in programs at the Center City campus and the Bachelor of General Studies. The Assistant Director of Academic and Student Services is responsible for working closely with advising and student services roles across the University to plan, develop, and deliver services that are appropriate for students at the Center City campus. The role plays a significant function as a key member of the University College team offering direct services from acceptance through graduation for University College students. The role has increasing involvement with strategic planning, and gathering and analyzing data that informs student service initiatives. The Assistant Director of Academic and Student Services serves as the Center City ombudsperson and the Title IX liaison and a champion for Center City and University College students with the offices across the university.
This role supports people of diverse backgrounds and should have an understanding of and experience with, successfully supporting individuals with varying backgrounds, including non-traditional students, people with disabilities, people with various gender identities and sexual orientations, individuals from historically underrepresented communities, and other groups This role will implement initiatives that elevate student services to effectively engage non-traditional and diverse student populations.
This student-centered role works closely with and supports student success with individual students or groups of students through regular meetings, workshops, information sessions, advisement, and other relevant activities. This role manages and provides comprehensive advising services, including graduation review to students for the achievement of individual academic, career and personal plans/goals.
The role further serves as an advocate and referral source for students; educates students on TU advising policies and procedures. This role is highly collaborative and will work with colleagues across University College and the university, including academic units, student affairs, admissions, Continuing Studies, Career Services, Disabilities Resource Center, and other units. In collaboration with faculty and staff, this role plans and coordinates activities related to new student orientation, transfer advising sessions and other advising initiatives that contribute to retention. This role also oversees the at-risk process for the Bachelor of General Studies and serves as point person for at-risk students including managing and maintaining related data related to student retention. This role may also work with non-credit programs to support advising and registration for professional development programs. This role will be required to become familiar with a broad range of undergraduate, graduate, and non-credit programs across the university. This role requires the ability to work on and off-campus, as well as the ability to work early morning, evening, and weekend hours; Extended hours will be required during certain periods each semester. This role may perform other duties, including implementation and management of special projects as assigned by the Director of the Center City campus and the Associate Vice Provost for University College.
University College supports three regional campuses, the Office of Digital Education, non-credit programs, and several academic programs, including the Bachelor of General Studies and the UG Certificate in Sustainability.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in academic advising and/or student services.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
