Position Summary:
Job Summary
The Counselor provides clinical, emergency, consultation and outreach services to the Susquehanna University community. The counselor provides clinical expertise in at least one of the following: eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, men’s issues, MBSR, or DBT. The Counseling and Psychological Services staff functions in a cooperative and collaborative environment, and the Counselor contributes to this both internally and within the larger university. Consistent with our commitment to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all persons who walk through our door, the counselor provides culturally appropriate services to all students. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Required Qualifications:
EducationA master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work is required. Appropriate licensure or license-eligible in Pennsylvania is required. For social workers: LSW is required, for counselors: LPC is required, for psychologists: license eligibility is required.
Experience3 years of demonstrated experience and/or expertise in working with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color on issues of race-based stress, trauma, and racism and in providing therapy/counseling with Ethnic Minority people required.
Additional RequirementsThis role is identified as one that includes significant interaction with students and/or campus activities, and/or has oversight for disciplinary procedures. Therefore, you are considered a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and required to report any Clery Act crime disclosed to you and remain compliant with annual CSA training requirements.
