Job Purpose Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the People Services department in the areas of HRIS data management, reporting, implementing integrated HRIS systems, project management and analyzing data necessary to show trends to assist the organization in meeting its strategic objectives. An individual contributor, working manager. Collaborates across People Services functions and Rubio’s departments. Leads by example and is accountable for the C.O.R.E. 5.
Essential Job Duties
Responsible for HRIS system from the People Services/Master Data aspect
Leads the HRIS day-to-day activities to support the HR, payroll and other related functions
Designs and generates reports in relation to workflow
Builds strong cross functional relationships and partnerships with IT, payroll, finance and operations
Manages HRIS vendor relationships and ensures appropriate billing of services
Analyzes and interprets needs and solutions and make recommendations to Rubio’s Executive Team
Perform other analysis and assist with projects as requested
Non-Essential Job Duties
May perform similar and incidental duties, as required.
Job Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in computer science, payroll or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical certifications valued.
Experience: Minimum of five years experience and/or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience in the field of Human Resources and/or Systems Development. Restaurant Industry/Retail experience preferred but not required. Must have thorough understanding of Human Resources functions and HRIS technology, including preferably high volume ESS/MSS environment.
Knowledge: Proven database management and administration skills and advanced excel skills. Previous exposure and advanced knowledge of HR information systems, specifically Ceridian/Dayforce, applicant tracking systems, specifically TalentReef and Dayforce and online benefits enrollment system(s), ideally BenefitFocus or Mercer 365.
Language Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of HRIS languages.
Math Skills: Analytical math skills.
Other Skills: Highly self-motivated, analytical and detail oriented with proven knowledge of project management. Ability to communicate clearly to others on HRIS system related functions so they can clearly understand. Ceridian/Dayforce knowledge a plus.
Other Abilities: Ability to solve problems and interpret instructions and guideline, train team members on Company functions and policies and convert raw data into presentation materials. Ability to work in a team environment, promoting cross-functional collaboration. Ability to demonstrate a high level of self-discipline and drive. Ability to maintain a high level of patience with others. Ability to provide organizational leadership and foster a team environment. Ability to handle multiple priorities.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Chief People Officer
Major Business/Professional Contacts
Frequent contact with various levels of Restaurant Support Center, Field Operations management and vendors concerning HRIS functionality, questions, concerns, reports, information, and assistance.
Working and Environmental Conditions
Typically functions in an office environment and may require long amounts of time sitting, typing and looking at a computer screen. Position is based in Rubio’s Support Center.
Physical Demands
Requires sitting for extended periods of time. May require time on the phone and/or in front of a laptop computer for long periods of time. Flexible hours, night and day, weekends and holidays to respond to calls, complaints, and/or emergencies.

Computer, telephone, multi-purpose printer, projector.
