Position: Program Assistant, Scholars for Excellence in Child Care (Temp,
STF)
Description of Duties to be Performed: Assist Scholar Coordinator in daily operations of the
program, which includes typing, filing, scanning, copying, assembling recruitment packets, checking mail, maintaining spreadsheets,
answering phones, technical assistance, purchasing, and other duties as required. Maintains recruitment packets. Assist Scholars with
technical assistance by phone, email, text, and document information. Assists in maintaining required Scholar information for filing.
Answers and documents phone conversations with Scholars. Assists with processes regarding Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Bookstore.
Assists with processing scholarship applications and renewals. Assists Scholar Coordinator with recruitment efforts and activities. Assists
Scholar Coordinator in preparing spreadsheets and maintaining files and records. Assist Scholar Coordinator in managing purchasing for the
office and the scholarship program. Ability to work flexible hours to include some evenings and weekends. Regular attendance is an essential
function of this position.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent. Minimum of one-year
experience in each of the following areas: customer service, office operations, and early childhood education. Strong computer and
administrative experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive. Provide frontline customer service via face-to-face,
email, and phone calls; handling routine interactions, transactions, and student issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate strong time-management and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate accuracy, and thoroughness; look for process improvement
techniques and promote a high level of customer services focusing on quality. Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking, and
listening. Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs.
Desired Qualifications: Associate degree in child development or related field or bachelor’s degree. Two years’
experience in each of the following areas: customer service, office operations, and early childhood education.
