ACADEMIC AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN THE BUSINESS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION
POSITION: Assistant Supervisor, Computer Lab
Description of Duties: Assist with the daily operations and functions of the Business and Information Technology Division computer lab. Provide assistance to students with log-ons, passwords, and verification of student ID’s, scanning disks for viruses, and other related activities. Troubleshoot and research software, hardware, and printer issues. Install and re-install software, memory, and hardware to computers. Provide service to the Business Division by supporting Information Technology Services (ITS) with equipment and software to meet classroom and laboratory needs. Coordinate with ITS to resolve technical and computer related issues. Communicate with staff on PC issues. Assist in the screening, recommending, interviewing, and supervising all work study, hourly, and lab assistants. Assume lab responsibility during supervisor’s absence to include security activities, preventative maintenance, and other related duties. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position (updated on 03-06-14). Perform other related duties as assigned (updated on 02-03-15). Supervise hourly and work-study employees. Work under minimal supervision. Receive training and guidelines from the Supervisor, Computer Lab.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in computer related field or equivalent. One year of computer lab experience or equivalent training. Technical expertise in working with personal computers. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of programming languages, software applications, and networking. Heavy lifting and moderate carrying. Periods of time spent sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and stooping. Manual dexterity sufficient to work with various tools and small components.
Desired Qualifications: Two or more years of related job experience. A+ or other computer related certifications.
