Ripon College seeks an enthusiastic, experienced, and strategic Director of Grants and Foundation Relations. This position reports to the
President.
The Director of Grants and Foundation Relations will support the college by writing or facilitating the submission of both
institutional grant applications and individual faculty research grants to private foundations, corporate foundations, and
government/quasi-government funding agencies. This position will interface with the Coordinator of Institutional Effectiveness for
information vital in the grant submission process. To be successful, the Director of Grants and Foundation Relations must effectively manage
the following functions: grants submitted on behalf of the institution at-large; ensure that faculty and staff meet internal guidelines
during submission of their individual or department research proposals; meet with faculty and staff regularly to educate them about the
grant-writing process and offer assistance as needed; coordinate with the Coordinator of Institutional Effectiveness, as well as appropriate
faculty and staff, to ensure the timely submission of stewardship reports for successful grant applications.
Bachelor’s degree
required. Master’s degree preferred. Previous professional grant-writing experience (or extensive volunteer writing experience) is
also required. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in a higher education development setting, a liberal arts
background, and an extensive track record of funded grant proposals. Familiarity with print and online grants research tools is a plus. The
successful candidate will be an accomplished and elegant writer, be comfortable conversing and writing about various topics, have strong
organizational and planning skills, and be a creative problem-solver. Other essential attributes include comfort with public speaking, the
ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people, an optimistic demeanor, and the capacity to think strategically.
