Educational and Experience Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Two years of experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:
Performs complex coordinating activities for the Hawkins grant program scholars and supervisory program work within the program.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides complex coordinating activities of the Hawkins program. Meets with Hawkins Scholars, provides support for the students, advises students as they navigate earning a college degree and teacher credentials. Tracks their progress toward certification, assists with navigating challenges within higher education, and connects them with tutors, test vouchers, and other supports as needed. Confers with faculty, staff, and administration on program issues and problems, and implements solutions. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates programs. Recommends program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations. Interprets policies, rules, and regulations and ensures they are followed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to supervise business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies.
