Rhodes College Department of Computer of Science is hiring a part-time System Administrator (18.75 hours per week).
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the computing infrastructure used by students and faculty in the Department of Computer Science. The CS program relies on multiple Linux-based systems that provide shared storage and remote access. The department also maintains a lab of Linux workstations with FPGA development boards for use in our computer systems curriculum as well as a cloud-based Jupyter Notebook server used in our introductory courses. Additionally, the department has a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster as well as virtual environments and motion-capture labs, all used to support teaching and research.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, required.
1-2 Years of Relevant Experience, required.
Job Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and update the operating systems of the departmental computing hardware.
Install, configure, and update the application software used by students and faculty.
Work with ITS to provision user access to systems as needed.
Maintain all CS computer/research lab equipment.
Assist with the operation and maintenance of the HPC cluster.
Assist students in troubleshooting software-related issues on personal computers.
Catalog all CS-related college assets and track usage
