The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership, student instruction on a part-time and/or substitute basis in the Electronics program.
Qualifications
Education:
-Associate’s Degree in electronics or related discipline. (Minimum)
-Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or related discipline. (Desired)
-Coursework in or experience using computers in instruction. (Desired)
Experience:
-Three (3) years of Industrial and/or military experience in the area of electronics, including the use and care of modern electronic equipment. (Minimum)
-Five(5) years of Industrial and/or military experience in the area of electronics, including the use and care of modern electronic equipment. (Desired)
-Relevant teaching experience at the secondary (high school) or post-secondary level. (Desired)
Abilities and Skills:
-Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. (Minimum)
-Developed organizational skills. (Minimum)
Responsibilities
-Instruct and evaluate students in electronics courses. (Essential)
-Maintain accurate written records of student performance. (Essential)
-Assume responsibility for laboratory coordination and maintenance. (essential)
-Maintain communications with school administrators as appropriate. (Essential)
-Notify toolroom attendant of the need for supplies, materials, tools, equipment, or maintenance as appropriate. (Essential)
-Maintain official student rosters online and enter student final grades into the college computer record system.(Essential)
-Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines. (Essential)
-Attend department meetings as requested. (Essential)
Physical Standards and Special Job Features
Physical Standards:
-Some lifting up to 10lbs may be required.
-Ability to move about lab to provide individual hands-on instruction.
-Dexterity to manipulate test equipment.
Special Job Features:
-Finalists for this position must present a sample lesson.
-Candidates for teaching positions must be fluent in the English language (oral and written) – English Fluency in Higher Education Act. (Pennsylvania Senate Bill 539/Act No. 76).
-This position is subject to a background check.
Pay TransparencyThe part-time rate for 2023/24 will be the greater of $1140 per credit or $760 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $47.50 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.College Statement
