Position Summary:
This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Education
Project Assistant position for the Hallie E. Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families in the College of Public Health and Human
Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU).
This is a limited duration appointment expected to last approximately 2 years or
less from the appointment begin date as it is based on grant funding.
The Education Project Assistant (EPA) will work on research
projects in the Hallie Ford Center at Oregon State University (OSU). The EPA will be housed in the Hallie E. Ford Center for Healthy
Children and Families and be affiliated with the School of Social and Behavioral Health Sciences in OSU’s College of Public Health & Human
Sciences.
This position will work under the guidance of Dr. Megan McClelland who is directing the Red Light, Purple Light research
project and conducting research on school readiness in young children. The EPA will be responsible for assisting project staff with duties
related to research projects, including data collection, data entry, and communicating with teachers, parents and community partners. These
projects are funded through grants with the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and the U.S. Department of Education.
The Hallie
Ford Center for Healthy Children & Families promotes a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to research and outreach. The mission of the
Center is to promote healthy children and families by facilitating high quality research, translating research into practice, and building
the capacity of families, service providers and communities. The Center is organized into four research cores devoted to the following
areas: Healthy Development in Early Childhood, Healthy Development for Youth and Young Adults, Healthy Lifestyles and Obesity Prevention in
Children and Families, and Parenting and Family Life. The organizational structure of the Center includes the Endowed Director and four Core
Directors. Core Directors are tenured faculty members who provide leadership to work groups comprised of multidisciplinary teams of faculty

Position Duties
50%: Assist with data collection and training needs
including local travel to area schools to recruit participants, collect data, assist with logistics related to child development and early
education trainings. Assists with data tracking and monitoring during data collection time points. Administer standardized assessments in
classroom settings to young children. Provide lead work to undergraduate research assistants.
30%: Communication
with Participants and Community Partners: Communicates information to teachers, parents, and to community partners (phone calls, emails and
in-person trainings).
20%: Data Entry and Coordination: Enter data collected from the assessments directly into
the EpiData software. Assist with reports and presentations. Collect, maintain, and organize data, electronic and written files for the
project.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, training, or experience sufficient to perform the duties required by the
specific research, extension, or other educational project; AND Knowledge of spoken and written English sufficient to obtain, provide, or
exchange information. Some positions may require skill in typing (proficiency level based on individual position
requirements).

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must
successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq.
Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24
months.
