The successful candidate will collaborate hands-on with both our Oncology scientists and the larger lab operations community at NIBR to build a safe and efficient lab environment. The candidate must be able to network across a large organization, handle a diverse array of tasks each day, as well as communicate effectively. Familiarity with a biology lab setting is essential.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborate with Oncology scientists to understand the research needs and ensure an organized and functional lab space.
• Manage lab supplies by working with key vendors and internal partners including being responsible for managed stocked programs supporting the department.
• Provide a key interface between lab associates and supporting NIBR functions, including Facilities, Health Safety & Environment (HS&E), Scientific Operations, and Procurement to provide effective support of Oncology lab operations
• Support Lab Equipment Management including maintenance, inventory, life cycle management insights, etc. Support the ordering and installation of lab equipment.
• Coordinate internal lab moves and lab space for new hires, recommend changes for space optimization, and coordinate regular lab cleanups.
• Oversee and maintain labs to ensure full compliance with Health Safety & Environment program, Business Continuity, Sustainability initiatives and Compliance.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $80,000 and $120,000 / year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.What you’ll bring to the role:
• This position will be located at the Cambridge, MA site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will not require travel as defined by the business.
• B.S. or M.S. degree in a scientific subject area with 5+ years working in a drug discovery environment.
• Proficient knowledge of a biology lab including understanding of workflows, equipment repairs and maintenance and consumable needs in this environment.
• Operational experience desired or experience partnering closely with Operational colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills, record keeping skills, attention to detail, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills, creative problem-solving capabilities, and willingness to work in a team environment are important.
• Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment to solve problems is required, as well as to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, with a strong expertise in Excel. Aptitude for learning software such as SharePoint desired.
