Location Description: Michael Foods, Inc. located in Mars Hill, Maine. Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product. Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for a wide-range of duties including communication to employees, employee recognition and events, employee tracking, benefits, and supporting the plant HR Supervisor and Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for tracking and coordination of benefit enrollments at new hire, annually and during status changes.
- Responsible for coordinating FMLA’s and Leave of Absences for employees.
- Responsible for administrative duties of the company attendance policy.
- Responsible for organizing company events and programs.
- Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring and orientation.
- Performs administrative duties as needed (answering phones, photocopying, faxing, etc.)
- Provide oversite to payroll information such as regular, overtime and holiday pay into computer system, verifies information and determines need for pay modification and takes corrective action as needed.
- Assist employees with questions related to benefits and employment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
- Problem solving, communication, creativity and interpersonal skills a must.
- Able to work independently.
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher and Print Shop)
- Knowledge of Ultimate payroll system is helpful but not required.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Must be professional in dealing with personnel issues including confidential information.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Associate degree (AA) in Human Resources.
