Required Qualifications: As per Civil Service Guidelines. Must have taken and passed the specific job related Civil Service exam and be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service list. Must be eligible for or possession of a license and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of healthcare experience working with an adult or aging population in a clinical setting. One year of long term care experience. Experience using EMR.
Brief Description of Duties: At Student Health Services our Licensed Practical Nurse is a critical member of our team who diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health problems by means of nursing methods and techniques such as case finding, health teaching and counseling. Incumbents provide care supportive to and restorative of health and well-being, while adhering to a medical regimen. Under supervision of the Nurse Manager and in collaboration with other team members, provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the professional standards of care, state regulations and accreditation standards and SHS philosophy, policies, and procedures.
Duties of a Licensed Practical Nurse may include the following but are not limited to:
Special Notes: These are temporary, hourly, per diem positions, shift and pass days varied. Weekend work may be required. FLSA Nonexempt positions, eligible for overtime provisions of the FLSA. Mandatory rehire roster candidates have preference.
