Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Coordinator II, Student Retention will coordinate daily efforts that support the campus Early Alert system. Meets with students on Academic Suspension and Probation, through Faculty referrals, and tracks Early Alert referrals. Coordinates various programs and activities designed to improve retention and promote students academic and personal development.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Assists with daily department operations and provides administrative assistance as needed. Acts as the main point of contact for the Student Success and Retention department and Early Alerts.
2.Monitors department budget and all expenses that fall under this budget including, but not limited to, department resources such as supplies and equipment, payroll for department personnel, and vendor contracts for student programming
3.Contacts students on Academic Warning, Suspension, and Probation (student referrals provided by Faculty). Reviews student accounts and, using independent judgment within the scope of this position, connects students with potential resources to assist with becoming more successful in the classroom (e.g., tutoring, Counselors, Advisors, etc.)
4.Manages and maintains detailed records in tracking system(s) to maintain accurate documentation and determine effectiveness of intervention. This includes, but is not limited to, entering notes documenting outreach efforts and outcomes, and closing tickets once resolved
5.Researches materials and Early Alert / At Risk intervention best practices. In collaboration with Faculty, Library Services, and the Learning Center, creates and facilitates in-person and virtual student success-centered workshops for At Risk students (topics such as campus resources, study tips, notes taking, etc.). Creates video workshop presentations and video library of mini topics to be placed on the location Student Success webpage
6.Prepares reports on workshop completion and enrollment of students on Academic Probation and Suspension
7.Supervises College Work Study participants who provide basic administrative assistance with Early Alert and outreach-related workload and projects
8.Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
·Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
·Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
·Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·Associate’s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary
Hiring salary range is $44,793-$51,512
