Job Summary/Basic Function:
About the Role:
The Facility Maintenance Technician 2 is an integral specialty within the Facilities Maintenance department. This position is generally assigned to a specific craft, where the candidate will be expected to perform tasks at an apprentice competency level. The candidate may also be required to work variable shifts and occasional overtime. Work may involve exposure to inclement outdoor weather. Candidate must follow all departmental safety rules and regulations. He/she will assist specialized trades and may often work independently with little direct supervision, performing less specialized tasks. Candidate may be required to work flexible hours and perform other duties as required.This position is considered as essential, and employees will be required to work as scheduled when University offices are closed due to emergency situations or natural disasters. These technicians typically work under the direct supervision of the assigned maintenance trade supervisor.
