Instructional Designer
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Kean Online, the Instructional Designer (Professional Services Specialist 2) is responsible for providing instructional design, academic technology implementation and project management expertise for the development of academic courses and specialized educational programs for online and hybrid learning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: instructional design; project management of course/program developments; overseeing pedagogically relevant technology deployment; faculty training in instructional design and pedagogy; creation of e-learning course components and management of associated platforms like Articulate; and performing related work as required. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Some travel to other Kean locations is also required.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional experience in instructional design is required. A combination of teaching experience and instructional design is also acceptable. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Experience developing online courses is preferred. Candidate must have knowledge of learning management systems and emerging tools as they relate to teaching and learning. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, consultation skills and customer service skills are essential.
