Overview

The candidate will help lead ongoing development and application of our cutting-edge AI-driven protein engineering platform, using machine learning methods to predict properties of biotherapeutics and artificial intelligence techniques to design next-generation drugs. Working with a dynamic and multidisciplinary team focused on biotherapeutic design, engineering, and preclinical analysis, the candidate will have the opportunity to help realize the potential impact of ML and AI on the development of life-altering innovative biotherapeutic agents.

• This is a non-supervisory role.
• This position can be remote, or based near our Lebanon NH or Bridgewater, NJ lab sites.

Responsibilities

Additional representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

• Develop and apply methods to model and predict relationships among protein sequence, structure, function, and interactions, learning from both general data as well as protein target-specific data
• Develop and apply methods to generate and re-design biotherapeutic candidates under constraints regarding their sequence, structure, and function
• Develop and apply methods to iteratively optimize and learn from portfolios of protein engineering experiments, exploring and exploiting the design space around a biotherapeutic target
• Develop and apply methods to integrate diverse experimental data in closing the loop between design and evaluation in computationally-directed evolution of a biotherapeutic target

Qualifications

• A PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Quantitative Biomedical Science, or a related discipline. Relevant postdoctoral or industry experience.
• Artificial intelligence and machine learning methods; optimization algorithms and numerical methods
• Working in a collaborative team environment to formulate questions, develop appropriate approaches, and analyze resulting data
• Bioinformatics / computational biology required; computational structural biology or computational immunology helpful

Salary Range

Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.

The base salary range for this job is from $100,000.00 to $133,333.00 per year
