The Human Resources Business Partner will be primarily responsible for the University’s day to day HR functions specifically focusing on the Adjunct instructor area. The position will develop partnerships across departments, and deliver value-added service to department management and employees.
Examples of Duties
Student EmploymentAssist departments with onboarding of student employment.Assist in maintaining the student employment budget and communicating with appropriate departments to ensure they are within their budget.Assist with policy updates and development as it related to student employment.Assist with troubleshooting student and department questions. Assist with new hire orientation for faculty and staff.Responsible for updating and maintaining internal record keeping such as Affirmative Action Log, Vacant Position Report, Payroll notes, etc. Responsible for data entry into HRIS system and establishing controls to ensure accuracy and consistency of data. Assist in HR department development of strategic plan.Establish methods to streamline and improve efficiency within areas of oversight. Assist in policy development and documentation.Manages special projects within the department.Creates relationships with stakeholders to gain project buy in.Maintains project planning documentation and updates HR leadership as needed.Communicates barriers to project completion to ensure deadlines are met.Works collaboratively within and across departments for project implementation.Manage administrative functions of the human resources department such as status changes, and tuition waivers.Maintains an in-depth knowledge of all applicable State and Federal law, trainings, University specific policies and processes, and day to day management.Advertises and posts vacancies through advertising sources, and communicate with managers regarding applicants. In addition, correspond with applicants regarding application questions and close filled positions.Assist in review process of employee payroll data including data entry and employee record maintenance. Assist in development and implementation of ongoing training efforts for employees.Other duties as assignedTypical Qualifications
