Wayne State College Looking for Institutional Research Analyst Full Time

Wayne State College is seeking an Institutional Research Analyst. 

Nature of Work

Examples of Work Performed

1.  Develop reports
   and processes using data from multiple systems to aid campus areas in planning and analytics
2. Develop, utilize and maintain internal
   and external databases for report development to produce college reports, institutional surveys, and special projects to meet the needs of
   campus decision makers, committees, and external constituents
3. Participate in IR-related project teams to advance campus data
   analytics and use. Work collegially and collaboratively toward positive accurate project results with a customer service focus.
4. Develop data visualization dashboards and support campus constituents on data usage and access in the dashboard platform
5. Develop and conduct internal assessment of data processes, data management and data entry to identify areas of operational strength,
   weakness, opportunities and threats.
6. Design queries and gather, troubleshoot, organize and maintain a strong data infrastructure to
   support campus initiatives
7. Continuously improve existing procedures to enhance IR support
8. Research, test and implement new
   methods for data collection and validation
9. Provide guidance to administrators, departments and staff regarding data processes for a
   variety of reporting needs including assessment initiatives, specialized program accreditation, and retention studies.
10. Assist
    Director of IR in organizing and analyzing College data to meet the Federal and State reporting needs of the College
    (IPEDS, NSSE, SARA, Higher Learning Commission (HLC), specialized accreditations, etc.)
11. Support the production of
    numerous routine and ad hoc reports to the College, System Office and Coordinating Commission
12. Work closely with the Assessment and
    Accreditation Coordinator in determining data collection needs for the HLC Assessment Academy
13. Capture and validate
    end-of-term and beginning of term data (where applicable) for enrollment, courses, grades, and faculty and staff
14. Complete numerous
    external surveys to promote WSC to prospective students (US News, Petersons, College Board, etc.)
15. Compile and submit data requests
    to the Data Clearinghouse for data analysis
16. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Hands-on technical experience with report development and process management

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• Experience working in higher education
• Experience with PeopleSoft or other related information systems
• Database administration experience
• Experience in data
  analytics
• Strong spreadsheet skills, ability to manipulate data and perform data analysis
• Familiarity with data
  visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
• Experience with WebFocus or other related reporting tools
• Experience
  with statistical analysis software and processes
• Customer service experience
