Rensselaer County residency is required. Selected candidate will need to sit, pass and be eligible on the next available Rensselaer County Civil Service Exam for Stores Clerk/Inventory in order to be considered for permanent appointment. HV-CS-8423-1 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or possession of a High School Equivalency [OR] at least two (2) years of experience as a Mail and Supply Clerk or Stores Clerk. Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license is required before appointment begins. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Stores Clerk/Inventory will report to the Director of Business Services and/or their designee and will perform the following duties: • Receives, sorts, distributes, issues and keeps records of incoming and outgoing mail, packages, supplies and equipment. • Processes and keeps records of automotive equipment including but not limited to fuel consumption and mileage. • Operates automotive equipment for the pick-up and delivery of supplies, inter-office mail, equipment, and other materials. • Processes outgoing mail and packages including but not limited to the operation of postage metering equipment, computation of rates for special mailing and maintenance of records of postage used. • Performs storeroom duties including but not limited to stocking shelves, filling requisitions, tracking incoming and outgoing equipment, and maintenance of computerized inventory and usage records. • Assists in the assigning of control numbers, distribution, and disposal of inventory including but not limited to maintaining records of stores on hand and preparation of requisitions for replenishment. o Performs other duties as assigned. This is a full-time 12 month position with an hourly rate of $16.50.
