Job Duties :
The Office for Equity and Diversity (OED) seeks candidates for a Research Associate. The Research Associate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and disseminating EEO, affirmative action, and other federal or state legally mandated analyses and reports. The person in this position will also work in a management role in developing, monitoring, and producing research and reports to inform strategic directions, planning and programming, and to evaluate university efforts to build a welcoming culture and community for people of all backgrounds for its students, faculty, staff, and the general public/support region, consistent with UNC System Policy. The research and reports produced by the Research Associate will directly support greater educational outcomes and higher levels of complex thinking for students, more innovative solutions for the region we serve, and better employee engagement and performance.
Duties involve research design, research, analysis, reporting, and dashboard development that are critical to ECU’s ability to (1) evaluate and assess the effectiveness of efforts designed to support student and employee success for all at ECU and (2) identify gaps in success.
The Research Associate will report to the Associate Provost for Equity and Diversity and perform the following duties:

This position is contingent upon available funding.Minimum Education/Experience :
Master’s degree with at least two years of related experience; OR a
Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of related experience; OR a
Doctoral degree in social sciences, statistics, education, or related discipline. All degrees should be from appropriately accredited institutions.
Experience in research design as well as qualitative and quantitative statistical analysis.
Proficiency in statistical software and MS Office.
Evidence of excellent written communication, organizational, and human relations/interpersonal skills.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :
N/A
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :
Doctoral degree in social sciences, statistics, education, or related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in preparing affirmative action and equal opportunity analyses.
Demonstrated experience in institutional or diversity program data reporting/evaluation.
