Digital Event Manager
Position Summary:
As the Digital Event Manager, you will create, coordinate, and
produce all event components of Davidson College virtual and hybrid events, such as lectures, dinners, and webinars. This position is
responsible for set up and operation of cameras and select A/V equipment, digital platform management, content creation and production,
speaker management, live streaming and recording, onsite troubleshooting of technical problems, and post event editing. As the first person
in this new position and new department branch, the person hired for this position will be instrumental in building new processes and
policies and will serve as a consultant for other departments on campus who seek us out as subject matter experts.
What you’ll be
doing?
Digital Event Manager Responsibilities:
This position will produce virtual and hybrid/live
streaming events from concept to post-production.
This position will become an on-campus subject matter expert in regards
to hybrid events.
Create digital content for virtual and hybrid events, including opening/closing slides, lower third
titles, PowerPoint presentations, and introduction videos.
Create digital events by using various platforms like Zoom
Meeting, Zoom Webinar, and YouTube.
Act as main point person with internal and external event presenters to ensure they
are knowledgeable and comfortable with the event flow, facilitate speaker audio and video needs, and provide support in the event of
technical difficulties.
Work with the host office to establish program messaging, timing, and flow to meet the goal of the
event.
Set up video camera configurations to ensure correct camera positions and settings based on each individual event.
Independently and creatively solve problems as technical issues arise.
Build out a video production booth to include
hybrid computer equipment, running cables to in-house audio/video equipment and establishing a proper connection.
Manage,
advise and guide the Digital Event Follow in their job.
Work closely with key campus partners from Tech Services,
Technology and Innovation, and College Communications to produce virtual events.
Serve as main liaison for any technical
cross training for event staff and stakeholders.
Manages technical resource scheduling for equipment and labor.
Create event communications via college database (Blackbaud CRM) and software for all virtual and hybrid events you manage. Tasks
associated with event communications include creating online registration forms, event invitations and reminders.
Develop
and oversee implementation of short- and long-range plans for virtual and hybrid technologies.
Manage vendor relationships
on behalf of the department, ensuring that our vendors continue to be competitive and reliable.
Manage event budgets and
research new technologies to make purchase proposals as needed.
What do you bring?
Minimum Qualifications
Experience implementing
virtual and/or hybrid events and webinars
Experience in videography and/or video production
Basic
knowledge of event audio video equipment and functionality
Exceptional project management and time management skills:
highly organized and results-driven, and accountable with the ability to handle high pressure, last-minute, urgent requests. Detail-oriented
in a fast-paced environment.
Experience managing and troubleshooting digital tools and technologies
Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills and solution-orientation approach to challenges.
A commitment to a high
quality experience for our event attendees.
Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written. Strong writing and
proofreading skills.
Must be proficient in Zoom Meeting and webinar or similar platform.
Must be an
adaptable and flexible team player who is able to learn new skills quickly as the events environment continues to change.
This person must be able to work well with the Office of Events and Programming staff, as well as effectively communicate with numerous
other campus partners and outside vendors.
Valid driver’s license required.
Position requires evening
and weekend work to staff/run events appropriately.
Desired Skills & Abilities
Bachelor’s degree
Must be willing to learn Adobe creative programs such as Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, Publisher, and mass email
systems with HTML.
Familiarity with Adobe creative programs such as Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, Publisher,
and mass email systems (with HTML).
Familiarity with livestream programs like OBS, vMix or similar.
Innovative problem solver, possesses a “can-do” attitude, self-starter and takes initiative with new projects.
Strong
interpersonal skills; excellent internal and external customer service.
Extremely organized, highly motivated, and have
the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Experience in online event management
Entry level
graphic design skills.
