The English program of the Department of English and World Languages offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in English, English with Creative
Writing Emphasis, and English with Secondary Teaching Endorsement. Minors are offered in English, Creative Writing, and Communication and
Information Design. The English program also contributes undergraduate general education courses in composition, literature, speaking &
listening, and creative writing. The Department of English and World Languages is dedicated to upholding the university’s vision by
providing interdisciplinary education and is committed to the academic success of each student.
This is a nine-month position with
the potential of summer teaching for additional compensation. Responsibilities include teaching 12-credit hours per semester. Teaching
assignments are based on department needs and candidate’s area of expertise, and may include courses such as speaking & listening,
intercultural communication, gender and communication, communicating in professions and other courses in our program. Teaching load may
include courses in secondary fields such as rhetoric and writing or strategic communication. CID lecturers participate in ongoing
professional development initiatives, conference with students, provide one-on-one feedback to students; they attend program meetings,
mandatory training, and other related events, as necessary. Proficiency with instructional technology is expected.
The
successful candidate will have a desire to teach and mentor students who have been historically marginalized and underserved. The person in
this position should have a strong sense of collegiality and a willingness to participate in a unified and lively department.
Primary Duties:
Teaches a 4/4 load according to program needs and candidate’s area of expertise.

Contributes to student success through support and mentoring, including meeting for required office hours,
conferencing with students, and providing one-on-one feedback.Participates in ongoing professional development initiatives, attends program
meetings, mandatory training, and other related events, as necessary.
Salary Range: $41,000-$42,000 per
nine-month academic year.
