It is an exciting time for the University as Colgate enters its third century. President Brian W. Casey is leading the campus through a comprehensive to raise the institution’s profile as a distinctive and strong undergraduate liberal arts institution to even-higher levels of achievement. Of particular relevance to this role is the Colgate Commitment, the launch of the Mind Brain and Behavior Initiative, and the establishment of Global Public and Environmental Health minor (now Colgate’s largest enrolled minor). Under the leadership of Vice President and Dean of the College Paul J. McLoughlin II, there has been tremendous growth. The energy on campus is palpable as four living-learning communities have been developed over the last six years, and long-term goals have been established for further developing the residential college system through creation of an upper-level residential system and an integrated wellness model. Accountabilities |
The Associate Director of Residential Life is primarily responsible for the effective supervision and development of live-in professional and student staff as Colgate continues to advance the faculty-led Residential Commons living-learning model. This position serves as a core leader within the Office of Residential Life, providing oversight and support for a variety of educational and departmental processes and initiatives that advance the goals and mission of the Division of the Dean of the College and Colgate University. The associate director will interact early and often with students and parents as they interface with the department to advise, develop, support, and refer appropriately. This position will provide leadership for educational initiatives sponsored by the department including those facilitated through student and professional staff in the residence halls. This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), in accordance with the federal statutory requirements of the Jeanne Clery Act. CSAs are required to and responsible for reporting allegations of crimes they receive from students and employees to the Campus Safety Department. |
