Do love working with young children and their Caregivers? Are you passionate about early childhood mental health? We are hiring for a Child and Family Mental Health Provider whose primary role will be to provide evidence-based practice, specifically Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), prior experience and training with PCIT are preferred but not required. This clinician will be a part of a team of other Child and Family Mental Health Providers embedded throughout the hospital and available primarily on an outpatient basis.

The Child and Family Mental Health Provider is a Master’s level Clinician or Social Worker who will provide evidence-based therapy services to children and families at Children’s Mercy. Our mental health services are provided for a broad range of patients, including children in mental health crisis, parents struggling with behavioral problems, children and families who have been impacted by trauma and children who are at risk for abuse and neglect.

• The Child and Family Mental Health Provider role will provide evidence based child and family therapy services, which may include any of the following: inpatient consultation, outpatient crisis intervention, long-term family therapy, PCIT, TF-CBT, and/or CPP to children and families seen at Children’s Mercy. The family therapy clinician will provide back up support to the Acute Mental Health Screening (AMHS) Team.
• The Child and Family Mental Health Provider role will maintain ongoing communication with referral sources, service providers and care team, as well as, assisting families with accessing community services and transitioning to other treatment providers when needed.
• This Child and Family Mental Health Provider role will demonstrate active involvement and leadership within the team, department, and hospital by regular attendance at meetings and educational opportunities, serving as a consultant for other members of the department and hospital, participation on committees, and responding to hospital and/or community requests for educational programs.

• Master’s Degree MSW from Accredited Program and 1-2 years’ experience
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) MO required upon hire (obtain KS license within 90 days) OR
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) MO required upon hire (obtain KS license within 90 days)

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $29.66/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.

This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
